Alex Gierbolini: Testosterone Replacement Therapy: A Look at the Pros and Cons of Using TRT

As someone who has undergone TRT for over four years now, I would like to think that I am quite informed when it comes to the subject of testosterone replacement therapy says Alex Gierbolini. So much so, in fact, that I have been asked on several occasions by friends and family members for advice regarding whether or not they should pursue hormone optimization via TRT. I am also routinely involved in conversations concerning TRT with individuals who are either currently under a doctor’s care or contemplating beginning treatment. I have talked to both men and women about the positive effects that TRT has had for them, but I have also spoken with people who were turned off by what they felt is “cheating,” and would rather put up with symptoms of low testosterone than go on TRT (for reference purposes, these individuals generally fall in or past their mid-thirties). It is without question that Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) has its benefits. It can help improve strength, muscle mass, bone density and overall energy levels; Also, it can boost libido; it can increase an individual’s sense of well-being; and it can alleviate the symptoms of low testosterone, such as ED, Erectile Dysfunction. All in all, these are very positive things! But is TRT right for everyone? What are the potential downfalls of undergoing treatment with testosterone?… Read More »Alex Gierbolini: Testosterone Replacement Therapy: A Look at the Pros and Cons of Using TRT

Alex Gierbolini- Testosterone Is Low T Having A Negative Effect On Society?

I think most people who follow the supplement industry know that testosterone is a hot topic says Alex Gierbolini. It seems like every week there is some new story in the media about athletes abusing it or companies making outrageous claims about it. There are also the rumors (some probably true) of people using it with extraordinary results in terms of muscle and fitness gains. But regardless of the specific type of testosterone product you use, regardless of your age and sex, regardless if you take it by injection or orally, regardless if you use a cream or pellet – one thing we can all agree on: having normal levels of free circulating testosterone in your blood is generally good for your health and well-being. We don’t yet fully understand all the effects of having normal levels of testosterone, but we do know that it’s important. We also don’t understand all the effects of having low levels of blood testosterone, but we do know those effects are negative as well. And therein lays the problem: almost half the men in the Western world have low testosterone – not just clinical hypogonadism – and an even larger segment is walking around with sub-normal serum total and free testosterone. What Is Low T? And yet I often hear people talk about “low T” or even take a… Read More »Alex Gierbolini- Testosterone Is Low T Having A Negative Effect On Society?

Alex Gierbolini- New Study Suggests That Steroids Are Really Bad For You!

A new study has found that steroid users are more likely to experience negative effects on their health than non-users says Alex Gierbolini. Researchers suggest that the prevalence of lifelong medical problems among heavy steroid users is far greater than expected and “raise questions about the long-term health consequences of anabolic steroids”. (“Lifetime Medical Problems Associated with Anabolic-Androgenic Steroid Use” Presented at American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting in San Francisco) The research involved 254 men who were admitted to specialty addiction treatment programs for problems associated with abuse of anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS or another illicit drug. At the time of admission, subjects were 41 years old on average and had been abusing steroids for an average of 12 years. Half of the abusers also reported drug abuse other than AAS. About half of the men in the study reported current or past health problems that they attributed to steroid use. Twice as many men who abused other drugs reported a significant medical problem related to their steroid abuse compared with those who did not abuse alcohol or any other illicit drug. Many of these men also said they experienced withdrawal symptoms after quitting steroids including fatigue, loss of appetite, insomnia and mood swings. “We found that nearly 50% of all AAS users report one or more lifetime medical conditions,” said Harrison Pope… Read More »Alex Gierbolini- New Study Suggests That Steroids Are Really Bad For You!

Alex Gierbolini: Make Sure To Work Out Your Legs If You Want A Huge Chest – Here’s Why!

I’ve always known that training legs can help build up your chest, but I never understood why until now says Alex Gierbolini. Here’s what you need to know… If you want to maximize your chest development, make sure you are including plenty of direct work for the lower pectoral fibers. And the best way to do this is by working the legs with heavy compound exercises. Why? Yes, the pectoralis major muscle is a chest muscle but it actually has a significant lower head as well. This portion of the pec major sits on top of the anterior deltoid and also overlaps with several other muscles. One of those is the rectus abdominus, which means the fibers are all intertwined. The lower portion of the pec major is also innervated by the same nerve that supplies the quads, so it’s actually neurologically connected to your leg muscle. So, if you want to maximally recruit this important section of the pec major, training your legs will help out with that. For example, in order to activate your pecs, you have to retract your scapula and squeeze the handles of the machine. This is what maximally recruits the lower fibers of the pec major. So rather than doing flat or decline dumbbell presses where it’s pretty much impossible to fully contract the lower chest because all you… Read More »Alex Gierbolini: Make Sure To Work Out Your Legs If You Want A Huge Chest – Here’s Why!

Alex Gierbolini- Is It Possible To Be 100% Steroid Free?

Is it really possible to be 100% steroid free? Is there any professional bodybuilder who doesn’t use anabolic steroids today? It’s obvious for many people that this sport has become uninteresting because almost all professional bodybuilders are using drugs says Alex Gierbolini. However, this is just part of the truth. Of course, some athletes might be guilty but most of them are clean. Do you think that Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Priest or Ronnie Coleman was using illegal substances when they started training? The same applies to other champions. They had the talent and worked very hard in the gym but they didn’t take anything at first. Only after sometime, when their muscles didn’t grow anymore, they decided to make use of the chemical factors which help build muscle mass. This is 100% natural. What’s more, the intake of anabolic steroids helps to avoid injuries too. Do you think that Lee Priest was always healthy when he was building his unbelievable biceps? No way! He suffered a lot but thanks to his good genetics, he managed to build great muscles despite the injuries. However, this doesn’t mean that it’s necessary for everybody else with less perfect genetics to take something in order to improve their physique. Of course not! The use of illegal substances can be fatal especially when used by beginners who don’t have any… Read More »Alex Gierbolini- Is It Possible To Be 100% Steroid Free?
